Chandrababu Naidu’s Masterplan: Reviving Public Connect with ‘Dial Your CM’ Initiative

In a remarkable comeback, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has secured a resounding mandate in the 2024 elections. This victory not only brought the TDP back to power in the state but also played a crucial role in helping the NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, retain its position at the Centre. The TDP-Jana Sena Party (JSP) coalition proved to be a game-changer in this historic election.

A Fresh Approach to Governance

Chandrababu Naidu has promised to govern with a style reminiscent of his transformative leadership during the 1990s. This approach contrasts with his previous tenure (2014–19), focusing more on reforms and public engagement. From the outset, Naidu has stressed the importance of connecting with citizens to deliver effective governance and welfare programs.

To achieve this, he has instructed MLAs and MPs to dedicate more time to their constituencies, actively listening to grievances and addressing them promptly. Naidu himself has begun meeting people regularly at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) to resolve pressing issues.

Revival of ‘Dial Your CM’

A major highlight of Naidu’s public-first strategy is the revival of his iconic ‘Dial Your CM’ program. This initiative, highly successful in the 1990s, allowed citizens to directly communicate with the Chief Minister. Through this platform, people could report their grievances and share feedback on government performance.

Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s Mann Ki Baat, Naidu announced plans to bring back this initiative during a recent assembly session. The revamped program is expected to launch by Sankranti in January, with arrangements already underway at the CMO.

Addressing Past Criticism

This move also comes as a response to criticism of the previous YSRCP government, which faced backlash for failing to address public concerns effectively. By reinstating ‘Dial Your CM,’ Naidu aims to ensure transparency and bridge the gap between the government and its citizens.

Accountability and Impact

The initiative is expected to hold MLAs and MPs accountable, as unresolved issues in their constituencies will come under direct scrutiny. This approach not only encourages proactive governance but also fosters trust and collaboration between the government and the people.

Conclusion

Chandrababu Naidu’s masterplan to strengthen public engagement and bring back his innovative governance strategies marks a new era for Andhra Pradesh. The revival of ‘Dial Your CM’ positions the TDP-led government as people-centric, transparent, and committed to addressing every citizen’s needs.
