A tragic stampede during the Pushpa 2: The Rule benefit show at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad shocked the state. The chaos claimed the life of a woman named Revathi, while her son remains critically injured in the hospital.
Following the incident, Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced a ban on all future benefit shows. He stated that such events disrupt law and order, especially in crowded areas.
The Minister expressed deep condolences to the affected family. He urged the Pushpa 2 team to provide ₹25 lakh as compensation, considering the film’s massive earnings. “The family needs support during this tragic time,” he emphasized.
The police have filed cases against Allu Arjun and Sandhya Theater’s management. The Human Rights Commission has also received complaints about the incident.
Despite the film’s overwhelming success at the box office, this tragedy has raised questions about crowd management and safety at special screenings.
